A Brief Story
Beginning...
Krishena is a Creole girl with family roots in New Orleans, which she was born. But her story doesn't end there--her family roots also extend to Charleston, SC, where she spent part of her childhood. Krishena is a military kid and High School years were spent in Germany. She has an innate sense of wit and humor that has followed her throughout life and drawn people to her personality wherever she goes.
Krishena Garland is a 35-year veteran of the beauty and wellness industry. She started her career as a nail technician and makeup artist in NJ and NH, and quickly opened a nail salon becoming a successful business owner in Seattle, Washington with a clientele of celebrities including A-list names. In the late 1990s/early 2000s she moved to Miami Beach, FL where she was the "go to nail tech" to some of the biggest names in the entertainment industry – magazine covers, runways, music videos, commercials and privately. Krishena was also spin instructor and marathon runner.
In 2004 she began her massage therapy and esthetician career in Miami, Florida. Over the present years, massage has been #1 and she has amassed an unprecedented knowledge and experience in both the mind, body, and spirit making her one of the most sought-after massage therapist in country and abroad. Her intuitive approach to bodywork assists clients in finding inner peace and healing. Krishena's unique blend of wisdom, experience, and knowledge make her an unparalleled provider of massage treatments to athletes, injured clients of all ages, which are tailored to meet the specific needs of each individual, regardless of age or activity level.
Krishena followed her intuitive spirit and moved to New York in 2018 making long island her new home and, shortly after, acquired her NY State Massage License. She became an Ordained Minister shortly thereafter and began to dream up her next steps.
During the "world pause" of 2020, Krishena partnered with a friend to revitalized an existing acai business in Bridgehampton, NY. She decided to bring a menu based on the dietary needs of the masses, by perfectly balancing the store with healthy choices. Krishena brought the skills and ideas of her personal lifestyle of creating juices, smoothies, and her love of salads. For her the experience was a blast, even amidst the stress - yet she was able to do all this alongside servicing her massage clientele and beginning stages of building her brand.
Again, God has more plans for Krishena...
Opening Be Thy You wellness boutique in 2023 has been a dream come true and allowed Krishena to create the life she loves. Inspired by her own journey of self-care and growth, she provides a space for others to find solace, peace, and self-love.
Every day Krishena is being authentic and living her truth. In her spare time, she enjoys life...
